Hello, I’m Mai Phuong – a member of the QA team at Vareal Vietnam. It’s a pleasure to meet you all. To find out why we call me the “little one,” please read the article below!
A brief introduction:
I was born in 1998 in a peaceful rural area of Bac Ninh province and graduated with a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Commerce. Currently, I’m the youngest member of the QA team and also the youngest in the entire company. People often say, “Nature doesn’t give everything to everyone,” and that’s true: although I was lucky enough to be born in the cradle of Quan Ho folk music, I don’t know how to sing a single Quan Ho song. ^^
I’m quite shy and quiet, but I have excellent listening skills, so people often trust me and share their stories with me. Because I’m quite reserved, my hobbies are also quiet. In my free time, I usually listen to soothing ballads or sip a hot cup of tea and immerse myself in a book.
My Journey to Vareal Vietnam
Enough rambling about myself, I’ll tell you about how I came to work at Vareal Vietnam. I remember back in late 2019, after finishing my thesis and sending out my CV everywhere, Ms. Dung – the former assistant to the director of Vareal Vietnam – contacted me and offered me an interview. At first, I was a little surprised because I didn’t know how she knew I was planning to become a Tester and contacted me. After some deliberation, I took a chance and sent an email applying. Luckily, just a few weeks after the interview, I was officially accepted as a QA Intern.
Being the only intern at the company, I felt a little lonely, but thanks to my cheerful and enthusiastic colleagues, my internship became much more enjoyable. After completing a 2-month internship and an additional 2-month probationary period, I officially became a full-time employee of Vareal Viet Nam on April 2nd, 2020.
One thing I’ve always been proud of at Vareal Vietnam is being the youngest in the team. This title has stuck with me from my internship until now. Perhaps because I’m the youngest, I’ve been spoiled by my seniors and rarely scolded ^^.
In addition, another thing I’m proud of is being the only intern at the company to be hired as a full-time employee and promoted to my current position as Junior QA.
During my internship and work at Vareal, I’ve experienced many things for the first time, including:
My first time working on projects in Japanese.
My first time learning Japanese – the language with the most alphabets I’ve ever known.
My first company trip.
My first experience working remotely from home.
My first time attending the company’s New Year’s Party.
Vareal has helped me grow, become less shy, and gain more important knowledge and skills.
The above is some basic information and my impressions of the company. Hopefully, this sharing will help everyone understand more about the people and the working environment at Vareal Vietnam.
